Text Box: The Lord Jesus Christ declared in Jn. 14:6, “I Am The Way, The Truth, and The Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” ‘The Way,’ ‘The Truth,’ and ‘The Life’ is a Person – God Himself. The Way is therefore not merely a philosophy, a way of living, a way of doing, or a way of thinking. Because The Way is a Person, only One Person – the Christian ‘church’ is not The Way to God. Pastors/ministers/priests are not The Way to God; denominations, church-doctrines, and catechism (Afrikaans, ‘kategismus’) are not The Way to God. Humankind can only come to God the Father through The Way, Who is His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is through the Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, that we may have a personal relationship with God. Thus, one cannot have a relationship with a religion, a statue, or a church building. So, we cannot have a relationship with God by bringing our money into His ‘storehouse;’ hanging curtains in His palace, or polishing His throne – in a physical sense, He simply has none of these. As a result, even our best works cannot be “The Way,” (Acts 7:48.) We simply cannot DO anything for God; He does not require workers, only worshippers, (Jn. 4:23-24.) If ever we do anything ‘for’ God, it is simply because we love Him, worship Him, and exalt Him. Works do not save us. Works merely prove our faith in Jesus Christ, The Way to God, (Jam. 2:14-20.) All we can do to benefit others and ourselves spiritually, emotionally and physically, is to worship God and obey His NT commandment of Love – and we cannot even do that in our own strength, only in the power of His Holy Spirit: Jn. 15:4-5. As a result, the Only Way to serve God, or to actually prove our love for Him, is to remain faithful to The Truth, His Son Jesus Christ. To remain faithful in the gifts and everything else, which the Holy Spirit had entrusted to us; to declare His Gospel to a spiritually dead world, and to care for those in need – especially the body of believers, who are the body of Christ Himself: Mt. 25. That is “The [Only] Way” to God the Father. Likewise, no one can come to the Father through church doctrines, a religious system, or any other person, ONLY through “The Truth.” God had revealed The Truth to us in the entire CONTEXT of the written Word, as taught by the Holy Spirit. The Truth is Jesus Christ Himself. As the writer of Ps. 119:160 declared, “THE ENTIRETY OF YOUR WORD IS TRUTH…” The entirety or the whole context of the Word is Jesus, the Son of God the Father: Jn. 1:1-5. “The Truth” is a Person – not any person, The Person: the very Nature or Being of Christ Jesus Himself. Manmade religion and its doctrines and catechism, pastors/ministers/priests, teachers, leaders, or church denominations all belong to the system of religion; they are not The Truth. Therefore, none of us can say that we love, belong to, or have The Truth - the Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible - if we are not teachable in Truth. If we are not growing in the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. If we do not love, seek, accept, honor, obey, stand for, advance in, do, and speak The Entire Contextual Truth of the Word: Jam. 2:17-20. Only the Lord Jesus Christ, “the Word that Is God, became flesh, [a Person,] and dwelt among us.” We can only go on “The Way” through our sincere belief in, and obedience to “The Truth” – which is Jesus and His complete atonement for everyone of us personally, (Jn. 1:1 & 14; 1:12-13; 3:3,5; 4:23-24.) Similarly, “The Life” is not simply being alive; the religious church life we may lead, or spiritual life towards which we may still strive. Jesus Christ is The Life; our spiritual rebirth, our Everlasting Life. We can only have The Life – spiritual life in the Kingdom of God, now and for all eternity, through a Person, Who is God’s Life-giving Mediator between man and God. The Life is not something; it is Someone – not just anyone; the Man Jesus Christ; God Himself, The Messiah or Christ. Thus, there is no life in religion. Religion, not even the religion called Christianity, can save your soul. Religion is not alive, therefore it cannot give life. Neither can religious works, religious icons, norms, forms, beliefs, teachings, structures, agendas, social clubs, or any other religious thing, which man might deem as ‘spiritual life,’ be The Life! The Life is not ‘out there’ in some sermon, building, sign, miracle, or religious work. The Life is Christ IN His sincere believers. The Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, Who Personally, through His Holy Spirit, indwells all those who personally and sincerely accepted Him as their Lord and Savior: Gal. 4:6; 1 Cor. 3:16; 6:19. Does any sincere believer hunger for ‘more’ of Jesus? Then study The Way – “All of Scripture” or the entire context of the Word. Ask the Father for The Truth. Search for The Truth. Hold on to The Truth. Remember, only our Savior, the Man Jesus Christ, is “The Truth.” DO what The Truth commands. Real Scriptural obedience is truly worshipping God the Father, (Rom. 12:1-2; Jn. 4:23-24.) Remain in The Truth, and He will remain in you, because Jesus had promised, “He who has My [New Testament] commandments, (the words of Jesus Christ Himself,) and keeps them, it is he who loves Me… and I will love him and MANIFEST, [reveal or make real] Myself to him.” ‘Fill’ yourself with The Truth – Who is Spirit and Life - and you will find that the Spirit of Truth ‘fills’ you; reveals Jesus to you, teaches you, guides you, comforts you, and gives you power to witness and obey, (Col. 3:16.)
