THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN The Kingdom of Heaven is God’s eternal dwelling place in the spirit world. Heaven is a real place at the throne of God and in the eternal presence of God, where all those who personally and sincerely believed in, and accepted and obediently followed Jesus according to His inward Moral Law in the power and leading of the Holy Spirit, will live forever with Him, (Jn. 14:6.) Of course, none of us can do that flawlessly, that is why Jesus, by His grace, atoned for all our sins on Golgotha, and we can continually be “cleansed by His blood” on our sincere confession and repentance from sin, (1 Jn. 1:8-10.) Jesus said, ‘by default,’ little children, who are still too young to understand the Gospel, belong to the Kingdom of Heaven, (Mt. 19:13-15.) This means; should any child die before the age of accountability when they are old enough to distinguish right from wrong according to the Moral Law of God that is written on every human heart, the child will go to heaven. However, all those from an accountable age (or those who are capable of understanding the Gospel,) have to choose Jesus as their Christ in order to enter into heaven when they die, (Jn. 1:12-14.)
THE KINGDOM OF GOD There is a huge difference between heaven and the Kingdom of God, which is the unseen, spiritual Kingdom of Righteousness, Peace, and Joy of the Holy Spirit Who lives inside the born again hearts or human spirits, souls or minds, and mortal bodies of all true believers in Christ, (Rom. 14:17; 1 Ths. 5:23.) We can only be truly born again if we choose to live in and through Jesus, and follow Him as His obedient disciples by adhering to the Truth of His Scriptural Word in the leading and power of His indwelling Holy Spirit, (Jn. 3:3-5; 8:12; Gal. 4:4-7.) Jesus said, “The Kingdom of God does not come with observation; [it is nothing physical like a church building or any other outward religious form.] Nor will they say, See here! Or See there! For the Kingdom of God is within you” - meaning inside the ‘hearts’ and minds or ‘souls’ of all Jesus’ sincere, believing disciples, (Lu. 17:20-21; Mt. 24; Ths. 5:23.) “In contrast to the expectations of the Hebrew Pharisees, [as well as many Christians,] the Kingdom of God is not external and physical [in the sense of being contained by a temple or a church system and/or a political domain,] but rather internal and spiritual,” [Lu. 17:20-21, 1991 Spirit Filled Bible footnote.] Once people hear and understand the real, Scriptural Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ (and not church doctrines of any kind,) and once they personally and sincerely accept Jesus Himself as Lord, Savior, and Redeemer, they become the spiritually born again children of God, as Jesus commanded in Jn. 1:12-12; 3:3-5. At that very moment, the Holy Spirit indwells every sincere believer as His Personal temple; effectively ‘planting’ the spiritual Kingdom of God inside the born again human spirit or ‘heart’ of the new disciple. Eph. 2:19-22, ‘[Because you were born again through faith in and acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ,] you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, [all Scripturally born again believers are saints,] and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of [New Testament grace] and the [Old Testament Moral law,] Jesus Christ Himself being the Chief Cornerstone, in Whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in Whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit,’ (Jn. 13:34.) ‘Since you have purified your souls, [minds or thoughts — Rom. 12:1-2,] in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the [disciples of Christ,] love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again; [Scripturally and not ‘sacramentally’ through church rituals;] not of corruptible seed [or church dogmas] but incorruptible seed, through the Word of God, which lives and abides forever,’ (1 Pet. 1:22-23.) And so Paul could write, “Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that one does is outside the body, but the one who commits sexual immorality sins against his or her own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit Who is IN you, [the indwelling Kingdom of God,] Whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were redeemed [by the precious blood of Jesus,] therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, [and mind,] which are God’s,” (1 Cor. 6:18-20; Rom. 1:1-3.)
